Recently, Nanshan Fabrics & Garments Co., Ltd. and International Wool Association AWI (The Woolmark Company) joined hands to hold 2017 Nanshan Australian Wool Forum and Golf Tournament in Sydney Nanshan Oak Valley Golf Resort. This forum invited the insiders of Australian wool industry and excellent brands of textile and garment industry to attend. AWI is a non-profit organization consisting of over 25,000 herdsmen and The Woolmark Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AWI. Since its founding, Nanshan Fabrics & Garments closely cooperates with AWI. In 2013, both parties established the only wool innovation center in the world in Nanshan and in 2014, AWI and Yantai Nanshan University established wool education center. Initiating and undertaking this activity is to set up a platform for exchange and cooperation for the insiders engaging in wool industry, everyone carried out wide exchange around wool industry and the forum achieved smooth success. Both parties decided to continue to hold one forum each year to promote cooperation between Chinese and Australian parties in wool industry.

This forum carried out in-depth discussion on the tendency of wool industry. Song Jianbo, chairman of Nanshan Group, attended this activity, Song Jianmin, chief supervisor of Nanshan Group, gave a keynote speech to expound the development history and future development direction of the enterprise. He mentioned that Nanshan would establish wool culture center in Australia, which would cover wool history museum and would be a center including cultivation of breeding sheep, sheep-shearing performance, rural cultural experience, display of wool products, children science museum, creative center and education center. 

On the forum, Stuart, CEO of AWI, addressed as the industry representative to express respect to the participating guests and appreciate the huge contributions made by Nanshan Group to wool textile field. Stuart generally introduced the work achievements of AWI in recent one year and future development direction, introduced the progress of wool industry in scientific and technological innovation with emphasis, including development and application of wool products in different fields, innovation of wool fashion design, establishment of wool information platform Podcasts, setup of wool technological innovation fund, innovation of pasture informatization management, setup of wool electronic transaction platform, etc., with the content covering various fields of the industry. He fully affirmed the innovative contributions of Nanshan Fabrics & Garments Co., Ltd. in fabric field, in which air wool, pure wool waterproof fabric and special fabric, the technologies such as wool fine-drawing laid a solid foundation for promotion of wool innovation, and both parties would continue to cooperate in the field of wool innovation.

Scott Carmody, adviser of wool market transaction, gave a keynote speech on the information history review and trend prediction of global wool market and introduced the leading products and technologies jointly developed by AWI and Nanshan Fabrics & Garments. He also mentioned that the cooperation between Nanshan Fabrics & Garments and AWI could be traced back to the end of last century, the products of Arcano series jointly developed by them filled in multiple gaps in wool innovation field to promote the innovative development of wool to a new level and become industry leaders.

The holding of this activity was fully affirmed by the insiders of Australian wool industry, the participants expressed in succession that they were greatly encouraged by such form of exchange and communication, were confident in development of wool industry and looked forward to the holding of the next activity.
